Sir, —l see by your report of the Borough Council meeting on Monday livening last, the reason given by tha Ohalrman of Works Committee for not having hud done the promised work to Altken and William streets, li that " it would be lmpodiibla hitherto to do the work, the road* having been m such a bad state that oartlng shingle would have made them Impassable."
