A correspondent of the "Times' mentions an experiment — rare, if not unpreoedented — which was tried on Jubilee Day at Lias, a vilbgo on the London and South Western railway, In Hampahi c. It consiated In boiling a bullock whole, m addition to oue roasted tho evening b* f jto. A hole, dug m tha ground, woo built over with bricks ; into the latter wns bui't a tank, and imo tha tank was lowered tho carca'S, placed within a case formed hy iron bara, to wrr'ch chalnn woro attached. Pulltya from a BcvTold immadiately above raised nnd lowered the ox, of which the head and carcisa were fown up separately m et.-cng canvas. Carrofß were boiled with it, and potatoes encloaod m bavp, making gallons of rl«h Boup. At 530 p m. , tho carcftps, which hid beon bjiled about seven hours, wbb raised from tho tank, two bands playing " God Save tho Qaeen " and " Rule Britannia " on the scaffolding above. The meat was pronounced excellent, aud was certainly well cooked.,
