Michael Quinlan, greengrooer, Hatham, Melbourne,, made a deliberate attempt to murder hja wile on the morning of the 3rd instant. The woman remonstrated with her husband for beating their son. Thereupon the man knocked her down, and then shot her m the groin with a revolver. Qainlan was arrested and the wounded woman was taken to the hospital, Her depositions were taken, as it is very unlikely she will rccovor.
