MOUNT SOMERS ROAD BOARD.
y The ordinary monthly meeting of tho above Board was held m their office last Monday. Present — Messrs Walker (Chairman), Harrison, McFarlane, and Chapman. MINUTES. The minntea ot the last meeting were read and confirmed. overbesr's report. The Overseer's report was read and con j sidered, and the repairs to Booth outting were ordered to be done at once. CORRESPONDENCE. From Mr A. E. Merewether, asking for work to be done on the road below Clent Hills Station and Lake Heron ; also commenting strongly on the general doings of the Board. — The Clerk was ordered to return the letter to Mr Merewether. From tho same, asking to have the acreage of run 175 altered, having sold a portion. — The Clerk was ordered to make the necessary alteration; From the Property Tax Commissioner, stating that the balance of subsidy had been paid to the Board's credit. From the Mount Hutt Road Board, stating that that Board hold the Mount Somers Road responsible for uncollected rates due under agreement of June Ist, 1885; also, if any monies were due under Clause 4, of the same agreement.- Resolved that the Board cannot recognise any liability with reopeot to unoolleoted rates under Clause 4.— -The Clerk was instructed to forward amount due. From Mr J. 0. Whaley, asking to have hie name put on tho roll instead of Mrs Ede's.— The Clerk was instructed to make tht alteration. HOTIOBB 01* MOTION. Mr Harrison gave notice that he would move at the next meeting of the Board " That the resolution of October sth, 1885, be rescinded, so far as the boundaries of No. 1 and 2 Wards are concerned, and that new boundaries be defined." Also, that ha would move at tha next meeting of the Board " That a loan of £500 be obtained under Local Bodies Loans Act, and Government Loans to Looal Bodies Act to construct certain roads behiud Snndj's Knob, and at Ross's Cutting, River I'otts, and that the necessary steps be taken to obtain the conßent of ratepayers m district affeoted to said loan." POSTPONED. Mr MoFarlane's proposal to make the Alford Forest main road a general charge on tht Board's funds was postponed till next mee ! iag for consideration. SPECIAL MEETING. It was resolved " That a special meeting of the Board be held on Monday, August Bth, 1887, to consider Mr Harrison's proposals." THE BATE BOOK. It was resolved, " That any three mombers of tho Board sign the rate book. FINANCE, Accounts amounting to £115 3s 8d were passed for payment, and the Board adjourned to Monday, August Bth.
