GREAT FIRE IN SYDNEY.
{RBUTBR's TELEGRAMS— COPYRIGHT } Sydney, July 31. A serious fire occurred to-day m George street, Sydney, m the premises of Lloyd and Jones, mercers, Kerry and Jones, photographers, and Ferrari's wine shop. The total damage is ,£30,000. Lloyd and Jones' loss is ;£ag,oop. The insurances are as follows : — Commercial Union, j^ooo, j , London and Lancashire, Standard of New Zealand, £1000; 1 Equitable, j£f poo ; Scottish JJnion and ' National, South Australian, j £500 ; Australian Mercantile, jCisoo', j tyew South Wales (Co-operative, j£ib.qpj j Royal, National of New £ea- 1 land, ;£iooo. Kerry and Jones are i insured m the Unjlon Company, U.Z., for £1600 > South British, New Zealand Company, £6qq. Ferrari f is insured m the New Zealand Company for ;£i2oo. The premises destroyed j were fully insured m the Norwich t Vnm Comp»ny.
