DARING CYCLING FEAT.
A daring cycling feat has been success, fully performed at the Granite OHy by Ralph Temple, of the Amerioan bioyo'ing j team, for a wager. He undertook to ride on one wheel along the parapet of tbe New Pier, whloh is about two feet above the sea level, and five feet from the road* way on the other aide. The Intrepid rider made an attempt about half-peat six p.m., dressed ln his raoing suit. In oase he should fall over Into the lea, being an expert swimmer, and the tide running m, he calculated on being able to reach land again. W. J. Morgan had a rope attached to the handle bar, whioh he held alack m his hand for the purpose of saving the machine iv the event of the rider falling. A start was made 220 yards from thu lighthouse, and the bioyclist moved rapidly m that direction. After going aboat a hundred yards, and making an asoent of eighteen inches, owing to aa elevation m the wall, he nearly ran off into the sea, and shouted to his oompanlon to look ont. He, however, regained hit equilibrium, and proceeded to the light* house, whloh he reached In safety, acd was taken from his one wheel none the worse for his bold feat. Tho lidar was loudly cheered by the crowd of onlooker*.
