BRITISH AND FOREIGN.

[REUTEB'S TBLEOR A MS— COPYRIGHT.]

COLONIAL CONFERENCE. Londof, July 26. I A Blue Book of the Colonial Conference has been issued. The reports on the discussion of the New Hebrides question are omitted from the publication. The report ot the Conference has formed the subject of editorials m the leading journals.

London, July 27. The " Morning Post," m an article dealing with the report of the Imperial Conference, demands the immediate fortification of Thursday Island. The " Times " is not surprised that the colonies refused to accept the Government proposals to fortify Albany with obsolete armament. It considers that if the sole result of the Conference had been the agreement to increase the Australian fleet, it would have been worth while convening it.
