Wellington, July 28 The first shipment of the new repeating riffes adopted by the New Zealand Govern ment will leave San FranclßCO by the mall steamer on 29th lust. The shipment comprises 200 Remington-Lee rifles, the weapon which was ie;ently adopted by an English Committee as the best of all the types submitted for selection. The Native fined for sly grog selling at Opunakl waa not Te Whitl but Te Whetu who was connected with the old fencing troubls.
