A good start was made, St Luo and Lesanty taking the lead, followed by The Baron, Merry Haraptop, and Bovardo ; Tripotilla belcg last. After the first thomand yards Monarch yielded for fifty lengths along the Incline, and-Daaanty made play. At the last round The Baron went to tha front, alongside Tenebreuse, who then went ahead and won easily by two lengths*
