This afternoon tha following telegram was received : — " Okaiahu, July 22. * Uuder-Secretai/, Native Office, Wellington . — All the fanatioa were arrested at daylight this morning after very serious fighting. The police were compelled to use their icvolverß to prevent serious loss of life, and one fanatic named Rrnern Rapana ia severl/ w<Q tided. Some of the police have nasty cats and wounds, Tbe men behaved splendidly, We are now proceeding to Kawere, where the wounded will receive every attention. 1 have inatructod the doctor to be m waiting. I will wire fuller particulars from Rawer.c. lam sending thia by messenger from Okaiahu.— H. W. Bishop, R.M., Upper Waihou."
