A Doubt. <rt Wellington, July 18. Doubts are oast opon the accuracy of the girl ■ statement relative to the daylight robbery at Captain Rose's house on Friday. She gives such conflicting statements that the police doubt whether there was any attempt at robbery. A Captain in Trouble. In 1882 Deteotive Chrystall boarded the barque Peru as she was leaving the harbor with a warrant for the arrest of the cook. Captain Orr refused to give up the man, and threatened to carry the detective to sea. Finally he put him ashore at the heads in a dingy. This morning Detective Chrystall arrested the Captain, whose vessel re-entered the port on Saturday, on two charges of rescuing and harboring. The hearing of the case was postponed till Wednesday, bail being allowed in two sureties of £50 each. • " Found* The body of a man found m the harbor to-day is supposed to be that of the fisherman missing last week.
