An o'd ra&n, who had not been before the Court for some time, was fined 5a and costs, m default 48 hoars' imprisonment. (Before Mr R. Alcorn, J.P., Mr T. Bullock, J.P., and Major Steward, J.P.) CIVIL CABES.
Gray v Compton. — Claim £2 11s, for driving fees alleged to have been illegally claimed by, and paid by plaintiff to the defendant,— Mr Wilding appeared tor the plaintiff. Defendant did not appear. — It was alleged oa behalf of the plaintiff that the defendant's boy having impounded plaintiff's cattle did not, as provided by the Act, take them to the nearest pound, he hating driven them to Aehburton, when the Waterton Pound was nearer by a mile and three quarters. — Judgment for plaintiff for amount claimed find coats
