An inquest was held on Wednesday on the body of the old man found dead m the black. Bmith's shop at Birdling's Flat. No clue hag been obtained to identify it. It appeared deoeased came to Taylor, Birdling's manager, who thought him mad and sent him to the shop where he was found. Taylor's son found him very bad and told bis father, who, how. ever, did not do anything. The boy returned and found the man dead. The medical evidence was tbat death resulted from eon* gestion of the lungs, accelerated by exposure. Verdiot m accordance, with rider severely censuring Taylor.
