Major Atkinson will probably deliver an address m Wellington about July 25tb.
Mr E. T. Connolly has retired from the contest for the Pioton seat ia favor of Mr A. P. Seymour.
Tbe Public Works Department allows that the dhmtsaal of Jury, a candidate for Newton, was hasty and 111-considered and that (he proper coarse would have been to oil r Jury th 6 alternative either to withdraw from the oandidature or leave tbe Government service. Jury goes to the poll. Mr Richardson speaks at Kaiapoi on Monday.
A requisition is being got up to Mr B. Moore (Mayor of Kaiapoi) to oppose him Mr Moore will do so should he receive a eufficently strong requisition ,
Mr J. F. Partridge announces himself for Linwood, as a supporter of the present Government.
Mr Alex. Brnce Smith is out for Gladstone.
New Plymouth, July 13. MrG.A. Marchaot, of Stratford, has signified his willinpnesß to oppose Colonel Trimble for the Taranaki district.
