Mr Samuel at New Plymouth. New Plymouth, July 12. Mr Samuel addressed the electors Ust t j ening. He ad vooated thorough retrer. chmenfc and economy, cutting down high salaries and bringing tha expenditure within the revenue without further taxation. He would rnduce the Education and Defence votes considerably. He would not say what party he would link himself with next aesalon, but owtainly he did not approve of the polloy. Sir R. Stoat and Mr Ballance advocated m their •peeohes. Mr Bryoa'a views oolnoided oloeer with his. He was In favor of a redaction of. the Governor's salary and the members' honorarium. He was neither a free trader nor a protectionist— excess In either direction meant ruin. He favored freehold tenure instead of leasehold. He would be returned unpledged and unfettered or not at all. A. vote of confidence was carried by acclamation. The San Francisco Mail. Wellington, July 12. • ®The Alameda, with the English malls of 15th July, left 'Frisco for Auokland on 3rd Inst, timetable date. The Maripow, with the colonial malls of 20 th June, arrived at 'Frisco from Aookland on the 9th Inst., one day early.
