The following paragraph shonld be read with attention by all parents : — ■ " The seed of tbe common sunflower h the bost remedy for whooping cough that I have ever known. Brown the seeds slightly, like coffee, then grind aod ateep ; when sufficiently ateapot?, drain ole.ar of the dregs, and sweeten with rook candy or lump 6U?ar; Let the littla ones drink freely of it at intervals throughout the day and especially before retiring at night. In all ordinary cases, where ohildren are properly cared for and kept m In bad weather, no other medicine will te ff q u'red. It alecllhas a loosening effect on a hard, tight cough ; I and thus ie seema that even the poor deaptaed sunflower is good for something. To any who ace lnolloed to be sceptical I would only say tbii : Please try it before you oondemn. I consider it so excellent a remedy that last summer I devoted a considerable portion of my kitchen garden to the rais'n;* of sunflowers, that I might gather the Beods for medicinal purposes."
