Mr Wtn. Kelly's store and the PublicHall at Ohinemutn wore destroyed by fire this morning. The property 'was insured m the Union for £COO. Tho origin of the fire iB unknown. An inquest will bo hold.

Steam Fire Engine.

- - Wellington, July 1. The City .Council have agreed to pay one-third of; the cost- of a steam fire engine, provided that the Insurance Companies contribute two-thirds of the cost of maintenance.

The Coroner concurred. Expert evidence showed that the stock waa worth less than £200, wberoai Lodge had insured for £500
