The Board of Trade enquiry into the wreck of the P. and O. steamer Tasmania,' ori the Coast of Gorsifca, his ■commenced. The evidence showed that the Lascars belonging to the ship were excluded from' shelter, whilst the Europeans were protected from tne cold, and Ihe violence of the waves £ m consequence of which twenty-four of the Lascars perished from exposure.
