UPPER ASHBURTON ROAD BOARD.

The usual monthly xneet'ng of the above Board was held at Tlnwald on 27th June, 1887. Present : Meesri McLean (chairman), Harper, Sargent, and Stitt. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed.

The Surveyor was directed to stop river crossings till the repairs rendered the traffic safe ; also to put on men to clear gorse ofi the roada and to deliver order* for poisoned grain. A very long discussion enßued m to the financial position of the Board, and it was decided to exert the utmost economy m all ways possible, and that with that objeot m view the Surveyor have notice that his engagement will terminate on July 31. Accounts as usual were pasßed for payment, and the Board adjourned,
