(To be used m Churches. Tune St Alphego.) King out from every steeple The gladdest, merriest peal, To-day is England's Festival, Her day of wealth and weal. AU hearts, all voioes mingle In one great burst of song, God bless our own beloved Queen Her gracious reign prolong. In her pure hands tbo sceptre, 'Mid toila, and hopes, and fears, "With etainleßß honor she hsß held For half a hundred years. It is not all of brightness That gathers round the Throne ; The chalice of deep sorrow Full oft our Queen has known. But pierced hands upheld her, And solaced each dark way. And, m the Master's presence, Hex night was turned to day. God bless tbee, Royal Lady, And give thee length of days, And all thy great dominions Thanksgiving songs shall raise. From India's lofty mountains, And from eaoh burning plain, Ten thousand prayers ascend for Their Empress and her reign 1 And from old England's daughters On each colonial shore, Shall riße a song whoso echoes Will sound for evermore. And bark 1 a choir of voioes From islands of the seas, Shall swell the surging anthem Borne high on every breeze. - And many a heathen nation, That •• long m darkness sat," Will joifl, now true light shinetb, Our grand Magnilioat 1 God save the Queen— all nations In this great prayer unite— And crown her coming eventide With rays of heavenly light 1 And then— the warfare ended, And every oroßß laid down, Lord 1 grant her m Thy Kingdom, To wear the Victor's Crown 1 Canon Bayneb, M.A.
