AN IMPRESSIVE SCENE.
(Received June 22th, 11 p.m.) London, Jane 2V The Queen left Buckingham Palace about eleven a.m. to-day for Westminister Abbey m an open carriage escorted by a cavalcade of English and other princes. The effect was most brilliant. Her Majesty, who was dressed m a white lace gown " over darker material and wore a white bonnet appeared smiling and happy. When the carriage emerged from the great gates of the palace the enthusiasim of the people was boundless and' increased until the cheering became a mighty roar. Her Majesty proceeded via Constitution Hill, Piccadilly street, James street, Pa!| Mall, Trafalgar Square and Whitehall lane. The route was crowded from sunrise with people waiting to. see the pageant. Tfae scene m Trafalgar Square, Picadilly and m the neighborhood of the Abbey was unparalleled for brilliancy and wealth of color and for the impressiveness of the scene of the as* sembled myriads* unitedly animated by enthusiasm and loyalty. The Queen entered the Abbey at noon with an artillery salute.
Sydney, June 21; The jubilee celebration last night passed off without accident, large crowds parading the streets. To-day Lord Cariogton gave a dinner to poor children. An immense number ot people proceeded ' down the harbor to witness the illumination, which is of the most tyiilliarit description, m the city to-night. : Adelaide, Jane 21; The Adelaide Exhibition was opened to-day by Sir Wm, Robinson. The proceedings were of a most imposing character. Troops lined "the route from Government House to Exhibition buildings. ME. T. Smith; tfie Mayor of Adelaide and President of the Exhibition, delivered an address, to which the Governor replied at some length. His Excellency despatched a . cable message to the Queen, announcing the opening of the Exhibition, which was held not only m celebration; of her Majesty's Jubilee, but of the jubilee o the colony also. f
