THE QUEEN'S JUBILEE.
A. meeting of the general oommlttee was held last evening, the Mayor, MrT,, Scaly, ocoapylng the chair. — A letter was read from the Borough Counoil giving permission for bonfire to be lit, and also stating that it was intended to illuminate the Library building,— A com* mlttee was appointed to wait on the Gas Company, and endeavor to obtain concessions for persona naing gas for illnmlnatlng purposes on Monday night. — It was decided to ask Major Douglas to extend permission to the volunteers to fire a salute on the saleyards ground .-o lt was re* tolved that all theiohoolohlldren should assemble at the B .trough School ; and the other membera of the procession m the vicinity of the Templar Hall.— A quantity of detail matter was pondered, and the meeting adjourned till this evening, when it ii especially urgent that there should be a full meeting. All the subcommittees are to bring their reports.
