AUCTIONEER'S REPORT.

Mr Peter William? (for Frledlander Bros ) reports for the week ending Tuesday, 14th June, 1887 :— On Thursday, the 9ih Inst., we held a sale of fnroiture on account of T. O. Dudley, Esq. , at our East Street Aaotion Room, In oar new room upstairs, which haa bean set opart for that purpose. The attendance was very large and the bidding spirited, the prices obtained being very satisfactory, viz :— Single iron bedsteads from 123 to 37s 6d ; doable Iron half tester do, £6 ; paillasses, single, os to 7s ; mattresses, single, 7s to 10s 6i ; single iron woven mattresaes, £1 10s to £2 ; double do, £2 153 ; cheat drawers, small, 25 j to 40s ; large do, £4 15s ; wnshstand, 225 ; do, vety good, m pine, £3 ; dressing table, with hanging look-

ing glass, £5 ; chamber sets, single, lOj to 36 1 ; doable do, £2 2a 6d ; Brussels oatpet, £7 ; Persian do, £4 15a ; Persian rug, £1 ; fender and fire irons, £1 4a ; do brass rails, £2 7§ 6d and £6 ; nursery fonder, 20s ; sofa, £7 7s ; arm chairs, £4 43 and £4153; overmantles, £10; cabinet, £17 ; ootagan table for drawingroom, £4 10s ; oooasjonal tables, 355, £2 7d 6d, £2 17a 6d ; curtain poles, black and gold, £l, £2 2s 6d ; looking glasses, 43 6i to £2 2a 6d ; wool mats, £1 2s 6d to £2; mangle and washing machine, £3 ; butter worker, 27s 6d ; office desk, £3 ; colonial sofas, 20s, 255 ; bagatelle table, £2 63 ; and kltohen utensils at equally good rateß. On Friday, the 10th mat., we held our third skin sale of the season at oar East Street Horse Bazaar. Our entry consisted Of 2014 skins, all of which we sold at the following prices ' — Best oroasbreda, 3s to 3s 91 ; second quality, In 6d, 2s, 2a 7d ; inferior, 1b 3d to 1b 6d ; merino ewes, Jb 5d to 2s; merino wetherc, Is lOd to 2s 3d.

On Saterday, 11th. met., owing to the alteiatlons to our Horeoßeziar, we did not intend holding a sale, but three horseß came forward, One grand draught mare, 6 years old, we told for £24. The demand for good Bound young draught stock is still good. We hope to have our yards finished by Saturday, the 25th inst., when we will offer on account of Meßßrs Imrlr and Gawn another grand lot of draught horses. We wish to correct a printer*' error which appeared m our last week's report, v'z., one 7-year-old mare is reported as being sold at £50. It should have been £20.

We also submitted by auction Mr G. Graham's farm, cons'sting of 200 acres, on the Winohmore road. It started at £3 per acre, and went op to £4 10a, when it was knocked down to the mortgagee. It haa since changed hands at £4 J2s 63, Mr James Johnßtone being the purchaser. Previous to the sale of horses, wo sold sundry lots of furniture and produce. Prime mutton, l£d per lb ; potatoes, 4i per bag; onions, ]£d per lb ; fowl*' wheat, 9s ; geeae, 5s 6d per pair ; fowls, Is 3d per pair.

On Monday, tho 13th Inst., we attended the monthly sale at Chertsey, Very few sheep came forward. We sold, on aooouut of a client — Hoggets, 4i lid ; merino ewes, boilers, la 6d. The attendanoe was very poor, and the bidding anything but spirited . At the Tlnwald Yards on Tuesday, the 14th inst,, the entry cons»ied of 258 L sheep, 36 head of cattle, and 12 pigs Owing to the Inolement state of the weather, the attendance was not large. Notwithstanding, the prices obtained were equal, if not belter, than laiit week, viz , f»t crossbred ewes, 5a Id to 6a 6d ; fat merino wetherß, 5j 9d to 7a 6d ; merino owea, 3s Del to 4b 6d ; good forward crossbred ewos and wethers, 2-tootha, 7s Id to 7s 7d ; croßßbred lambs, 3a Id to 4s 2d ; crossbred evraß m lamb, mixed ager, 6s Id ; old crosßbred owes, 3s lOd to 4< 3d ; fat cattle, £4 10s to £4 12s 6i ; cove, springing, £7 to £7 ss. Next Tuesday being a holiday, no aale will take place, but tho following Tuesday, the 28vh Inet., the eale will he held at the Ashburton Tards.
