OUR PARIS LETTER.

GERMAN FORCES. (Fbom our Correspondent.) From the Ist of April the strength of the garrison m Alsace-Lorraine amounts to 50 battalions of infantry, 44 sqnadrons of cavalry, 7 sections of field artillery with 20 batteries, 7 battalions and a company of dismounted artillery, 2 battalions of pioneers, and a battalion of the train. These troops are divided as follows among the different army corps :— 49 battalions of infantry, 39 squadrons of cavalry, C sections of field artillery, 5 battalions of dismounted artillery, 2 battalions of the pioneers, and 1 battalion of the train form part of the Army Corps, while 2 battalions of dismounted artillery are attached to the Bth Rhenish Army Corps ; 10 battalions of infantry, 5 squadrons of cavalry, 1 section of field artillery, and 1 company of dismounted artillery form part of the 18th Army Ccrps, whirh garrisons the whole of Upper Alsace, while Lower Alsace is garrisoned by the 14th and 15th Corps, and Lorainne by troops of the Bth and 15th Corps. The towns of Alsace-Lorraine, m whioh a garrison is quartered, are : Dradenhofen (Yionville), Metz, St. Arold, Firbach, Sarreguemines, Sarrebourg, Dienze, Phalsbourg, Bitßch, Zabern,* (Soverne), Wisrembourg, Haguenan, Strasburg. Sobleßbadt, Colmar, New Brisacb, and Uulhansen. The garrison of Strasburg now consists of 14 battalions of infantry, J regiment of cavalry, 1 each of field and dismounted artillery, 1 battalion cf pioneers, and 1 of train.
