THE DRUIDS' ENTERTAINMENT,

The dramatic performance last night m the Oddfellows' Halt, given by members of the local Drnids' Lodge, assisted by three lady performers from Ohrietohuroh, was attended by a very good muster of the public, tho 2nd and 3rd seats m partioular being well filled up.

The performnnca commenced with an amuaing comedy entitled "My Tarn Next," In which the point of Interest arises from the fact of Mr Twitter (Mr R. Blston), a village apothecary, marrying a widow, Lydia (Mlsb R. Fiucher), who, it appears, by circumstances which oamo to light daring tho progress of the 'piece, has already four other husbands, Messrs Brown, Grey, White, and Black, who have each mysteriously disappeared, but this matter is at, the end of tho pieoe, explained bjr Mra Twitters, showing that there were only four names foe the one Individual, and the enrtalu falls after a general clear np of all suspicions of foal play haa been made. The three ladiea all dressed very appropriately for their various parta, and Miss 0. Flßiher as Peggy, the lively and jealous hoasetn&H, gave her part with great vivacity and energy, and Miss Vernon, although having only a small pert m the fun, did that well. Bolus (MrlS'okes), and Tom Trap (Mr Pauliug), Wheatear j (Me B. Taeker), filled the other par»B amusingly, although the prompter, evidently was m rather more demand than should have baen the case. After an interval and overture by piano and violina, the oartains rose to " Leave it to Me," a fare a m which the three ladieß again appeared ta somewhat similar characters to the first piece, supported by Mr Easy (Mr Sadler), Mr Oourtloy (Mr Potter), Joe Sprouts (Mr Rudolph), and Mr Qaince (Mr Maclean ) Thin lively and very amuaing little farce went more smoothly than that first performed, and brought out some apropos jokes on local jubilee and other matters, winding up with some comical exhibitions of spiritism and table turning, the curtain falling at 10 o'clock, and the audience retiring, all In good humour with the evening's per* formacoea, which should materially aid the funds of the Lodge.
