Cattle — There, was a good supply of fat cattle, bat no improvement m the demand, and, as at recent markets, a large proportion of the secondary claei was removed unsold. The feature of the oattle yards was a line of fifty really good tteen, Hereford croßiua, grszjd on tho Cheviot Hilla. The top weights, eighteen held, w6re bought by Mr James Forrester, Sydenham, at £8 10s a head, and the balance were bought by Messrs Hopkins and Co., Mr Kichard Brown, and Messrs Berry Bna , at £8 a head, Messrs Bennetts Bros. , being the eolllcg agents* Other consignments of fair steers and heifera brought £5 10s to £6 5s a head, and lighter beasts from £3 to £5. Values remain muoh the same as last week-* namely, from 17b Gd for prime beef, down to 12a fpr inferior. Store oattle sold slowly at late values 5 and cUiry cows also maintained their prices, the demand still being only for goodmilkets ana springers. Sheep. — A. fall supply came forward, and tho Bale opened very irregularly, improving, howerer, ac it proceeded. The average rates were unchanged from last week, with a rather firmer tendenoy m tho case of good lineß. Good crossbred wethers fotohed 9j to 12a 9d, ewqs 8s to 10a 9J; lighter Bheep m proportion; merino wethete, 4s 6d to Ga. 3d; these prices being equivalent to 2d per lb for the best mutton ; middling to fair crossbred mutton, Hi to ]£dper Ib ; good tnerluo mutton lid per lb. The value of the skins is now a great consideration with buyers and helpß to Bell the middling and inferior qualities of sheep. Store sheep of good ages and condition sold well, and culls aiso showed an appreciable advance m price. Tho principal «ales were— 400 croßs-bred owes, at 5s Gd; 415 2-tooth croßßbrod weathers, at 4s lOd to sa ; 90 2-tooth merino wethers, at 3s ; 183 full, mouth oroHß'bredowea, at Si; 334 1 and G-tooth crossbred wethers, at 5a 2d ; and for School or Agriculture, 339 crossbred wethers, at 7s 7d. Pigs. — The markot was very heavily supplied with fat pigs, principally, how* ever, of indifferent quality. Prime grain* fed bacon pigs of desirable weights brought last week's rate, equal to 3d per lb, and ocoasßionaliy a shade higher ; but slaughterhouse fed pigs, and too heavy and too light welghtß, wore lower, and cannot be quoted over Sid to 2si per lb. Good porkers brought about late rates. Good bacon pigs sold at from ~3Qi to 46s eaoh ; porkers, from 12s to 25j ; stores, from 3s to 153.
