A REMARKABLE PICTURE.
A remarkable picture, by Gainsborough, which w»s exhibited at the Koynl Academy just ovor a hundred years ago, is'about to ro sold by auction at Christie's. 'It belongs now to tho collection of tho late Mr John Graham, of &kelmorlio Castle, Ayralrre, and is known as " The Sisters," boing portraits of the Misses Burners, who afterwards becamo Lady Pay and the Baroness do iNoailles. Jt was onco sold at Christie's for something over £6 000, and was until recent years the highest priced Gainsborough over put into an auction. The fumous " Duchess of Devonflhire;" by the eiime artiat, which fetched upwiirnH vt ao.oooi'fi, ainnppoarod shortly afterwards from Messrs AKneW gallery m Old Bond street, and" has never been heard of since. Thero is some expectation that this chefcV icuvre of the great English master will, at tho forthcoming sale,- rival the missing "Duchess" m the matter -of its selling price.
