A Daring Burglary. Auckland, Moy SO,
Yesterday morning it was discovered that a daring 1 burglary had takon place during the night at O W. Goqdson's London Arcade, the window being stripped of jewellery to tho value of £'360, which wns carried off by the: thieves, without leaving any other trace than an o'd lantern left m the Bhop. Entrance apparently was obtained by the back door, the lock being picked, and a hole made to remove a heavy iron bar from the inside. The fihop is m a prominent position m Queen street. The window had no' shutters"; and gas was left burning all night for safety so that the robbery is enveloped m some mystery. A G-anerous Gift. Mr James Billworth, of Remuero, is the donor of £100, to furnish a Kindergarten school, and promises £100 annually t to provide free dinners to poor children. : : A Dangerous Fellow. Charles Patterson was apprehended on Saturday night, charged with assaulting Mra Cowdery by throwing a quantity of vjtroll on her.
