Invercargill, May 24, A shocking case of fatal burning occurred this afternoon. Mrs Hyde, wife of a settler at West Plains, went out to a field for turnips, left-ring two children In the house. On returning she found the youngeat, Hannah, aged one year and ten months, lying at the door dead and fear* folly burnt. The other child, aged five, says that the baby sat down on the hob of the fireplaos, where her clothes took fire, and that she then ran across the room and lay dcwn at the door.
