A meeting of the Jubilee Committee hrn held m the Oonnty Council Chambers on Saturday, Mr 0. J. Harper In the ohair.
Mr Barratt was appointed Secretary at 2|per oent commission on the gross •mount collected,
It was resolved that the subscription list be published ever 7 Saturday In the « GuardUn."
It WH deoided that the Railway •nthorltles be requested to grant free fares to oblldren in* lha Oonnty and those m charge of them to Ashbnrton on the day of celebration of Jubilee.
It wgs resolved on the motion of Mr D. H. Brown, "that the trades ba requested to maroh on the Jubilee day, •nd that Messrs Paul, Dnun, Reid, Tucker, the Mayor and the mover be appointed a Committee to visit the trades and request them to maroh as suggesteJ." The schoolmasters m town and country were added to the Committee:
The Committee then adjourned.
