(FBOM OUB COBBESrOHDENX.) Wellington, May 20. This afternoon it was resolved that the House at its rising tonight adjourn until Wednesday, and that Government business take precedence on that day, when the second reading of tho Tariff Bill will he moved by the Treasurer, and the great financial debate of the session will take plaoe. This will probably last well into the following week, as it is said nearly every member of the Houbo Intends to speak, m view, of the forthcoming elections, The way was cleared to-day by the passing of the Representation Bill through jits remaining stages. The new member for Port Chalmers, Mr Mills, moved the recommittal of this Bill for the purpose of reconsidering the olause whioh fixed the number of members at 01, but was beaten on a division by a large majority. The Bill was then read a third time and passed, An attempt to' recommit the Electoral Aot Amendment Bill was also unsuccessful, aud this Bill also was finally passed. Both the evening papers havo it that on Wednesday tbe Government will be met by a hostile resolution moved by Major Atkinson or Mr (£rmond, mo3t likely by the latter.
