The' new badges procured from Messrs Hobson and Sons, London, for the South Canterbury Rifle Volunteers have now arrived, and Captain Dolman has lost no time m getting the Ashburton Rifles supplied with them. The helmet plate is an eight-pointed star, bearing the Canterbury arms, with the name of the battalion m a oirole, within a laurel wreath.
