A motion to repeal the section legalising totaliaatora was lost by 19 to 3. An amendment to tax the totalisator to the extent of one-half of the commissions charged, auoh tax to be for the benefit of charitable aid boards, wa3 loat by 17 to 9. The Bill was reported with amendments, and the ..third reading made an order for next day; The Council adjourned at 4.20 p.m.
