QUEENSLAND SEPARATION.
■ A deputation consisting of Dr Black, Mr Lisner (Queensland), and others, waited on the Secretary of State for the Colonies to-day to present the petition, of the Queensland Separation League m favor of the objects of that body. Mr Black presented the petition, and criticised Sir Samuel Griffith's despatch on the subject of the Separation movement. He contended that the north had been led to believe that the Government would grant separation. Sir Henry Holland.jftin |reply, denied that such was the case. At this stage the deputation was obliged to withdraw, as the Colonial Secretary was called to the House of Commons by his parliamentary duties. However, it was arranged that Sir Henry Holland should receive a smaller deputation onj Friday next. *
