AUCTIONEERS' REPORT.

Mr Peter Williams (for Friedlander Bros.) reports for the week ending Tuesday, May 10th : — We held a sale of horses at our bazaar on Saturday, 7th inst., at which 22 horses were entered. The attendance was largo, and there were buyers for good medium draughts, broken m ready for work, but only two or three of that sort came to hand. Wo Bold useful 5-yoar-old draußht mares at £16 to £17 10s; a 7-year-old draught marj fetched £22 ; unbroken colts and fillies brought £14 to £18 ; a 3-year-old hack, just broken m, £11 ss ; inferior hacks, £4 to £5 10a. Previous to our Bale of horses, we sold prime mutton at l£d; lamb, 2d ; bacon sides, 3d ; ham, 4d ; onions, l£d ; potatoes, Gs per bag ; oats f pig feed), 3s Gd per bag ; pigs (porker b), 10s to 12s. - , At the Ashburton County Saleyards on Tuesday, May 10, owing to the inclement, state of the weather only 4000 sheep, 15 heed ofoattle, and 56 pigs were yarded. No fat cattle came forward. There was s good demand for young crossbreds, the prices beinp a shade higher than last week. Fat mixed fiifdSsbrecls brought 6a to 7b ; fat mixed croßSbred ewes, 4s Gd to 53 4d ; ordinary crossbred owes, 2g 3d to 3s Id ; good merino wethejs, 2s 6d ; 4>tooth crossbreda, m good forward condition, 6s lid ; 2-tooth mixed crossbreds, 4s 4d ; 2 and 4-tooth do, 5s 4d ; 4 and 6-tooth crossbred ewes m lamb, 6s; bacon pigs fetched from 20s to 38s Gd, good stores 14a Gd.
