The Goraldine County Conncil to-day oonßldored a requeat from the Ashbutton Oonnty Council that they j )in m expending £25 for protective works on the south Bide of the Rangitata bridge, Mr Trlpp having complaluod of the river encroaching on hla land. The Council agreed to the request aa a tomporary expedient, tholr own engineer aftorwarda to report on the condition of the bank.
