THE INTENTIONS OF FRANCE.
Paris, May 7. Addressing a meeting at Havre last night, M. Goblet, the Premier, expressed a hope that the French nation would retain the coolness and resolution which had been shown m recent political incidents for the time of trial. France, he declared, earnestly desires peace, but for that object will sacrifice neither rights nor honor.
