THE CABLE QUESTION
In the annual report of the Melbourne Chamber of Commerce, published to-day, the Committee, without endorsing Sir Julius Vogel's scheme for purchasing the cables, uphold his proposal that a conference of PostmastersGeneral of the different Australasian colonies be held for the purpose of discussing the cable question, and declares that such a conference can scarcely fail to be productive of good.
