Tbe varied and abundant) ■npply temptiugly spread showed how Intent tbe lailoß had been for some t me previous on caterirjg for the tastes of visitors, and the ample justice done ■howed their efforts were appreciated. The publio meet ing was held m the Church, Into whioh about two hundred were paokad, forms being plaoed la the aisle. The Rev A. Blake presided and read apologies for absence from fievs A. M. Beattie, D. MoNlcoll, and T. W. Newbold, acoompa-ied with best wishes for the succeis of the meeting Having tonched on matters bearing on the work and prosperity of the congregation, he introduoed to the meeting the Rev R. F. Gar bet t, who delivered a thoughtful and •ppropriata address on "Sympathy among Christian workers, " whioh was well received. Mr George Gilmonr handled the financial affairs of the congregation m his usual happy vein, and expressed himself hopefully with regard to the future. Mr J, W. Sanrio epoke with energy and effect on the unsatisfactory nature of infidelity. Rev J. Stewart pointed out the duty of the people according to the Minister their suport morally and every way m their power. Mr Harding addressed hlmee'f more especially to young men, speaking of their influence for good when evil habits were abandoned and good and noble characters formed. As it was necessary somewhat to curtail the programme he also moved a vote of thanks to the ladies who had provided the tableß. Mr Donaldson moved a vote of thanks with reference to the bachelors' table m few worda whioh provoked considerable laughter. Mr S. Chapman gave expression to some earnest and appropriate thoughts on the subject of deciding for Christ. Ac also moved a vote of thanks to the speakers and the choir, to which the Chairman added his (Mr O's) Dame, as also those of Mr Dunn, leader of the ohoir, Mrs Harding who presided at the harmonium, and Mr Cape Williamson, who kindly lent the Instrument. The speakers were . attentively listened to and tbe votes heartily carried. Tbe efforts of the ohoir to meet the taate and wishes of the audience m ihe department of song were much appreciated, and their success became the more apparent aa the meeting went on with a vote of thanks to the Ohairman, moved by Mr J. Croy,— and the Benediction closed the meeting, which was felt to have been ye ly successful, came to a olose.
