SUICIDE OF A DRILL INSTRUCTOR.
Wanganui, April 3^. At two o'clock thiß morning L«H Instructor Henry committed suicida bj shooting himself with a carbine, rhe deceased had been somewhat depressed lor some days owing to the fact thai the Defonoe Department had given him notice that he would have to be trans{erred He had been reported by Colonel Stapp for some trifling irregularities, and there had been for Home time a continual misunderstand n« between them. Laut night he was abont town «■ usual and got home about one o'olooV. From that hour till two he maintained an Intelligent convention with hfe wife and family. He then went Into the sitting room and shot himself. The ballet was aimed at hie heart but mlsßed It and came out under bis left arm and went through the wall of the room. Deoeased w«b one of the ■marfoftt Drill Instructor, and had been Bergeant m the 18th Regiment In the < colony.
