PEOSPEIIOUS IMMIGRANTS «.
An example of the prosperity that has attended some of the nominated immigrants to this district l;as been brought under our notice. Some years ago a geutleman, who is a reaident of this district, went Home fcr a trip and while there eelected a married couple to do work on his farm here. In due bourse th.-y arrived and entered upon their engagement. This they continued to do for some time, but eventually the husband expressed a desire to lease a portion of his master's land, and the request was granted. Having saved a little money, a couple of oows were bought, and their product turned to butter. Still studying the rue of economy, their stock was gradually increased, until they had quite sufficient to keep them employed, aud being able to put a good article into tho market, they readily found sile for their butter. Laying aside all the money they possibly could, they were soon able to turn the holding from lease to freehold, and shortly after their holding was aaain increased, and bo tbe tide of prosperity has followed m thtir wake untii they are now two of the principal land owners m this district, and almost on an equal foot ing w.'th their former master. In order to assure their frlecd3 at Home of their great suool-bs, tho couple left the other day for England, on a pleasure trip of some nine months' — Taranaki paper.
