Mr Crosble ie bo sanguine of the superior qualities of thif oat that he is confident it will pro* duce 20 bushels more per aore than any oat m tho colony. The description of this oat taken from the Bewson's catalogue of grain, says ; " This is a cross between the Excelsior and Waterloo oat, oomblning m a remarkable degree tho excellent qualities of both. The average height of the grain m the field ie 6 feet, yet the straw is bo strong and firm that It holds up well without lodging ; the tall luxuriant heads, filled with plump, heavy graim. The quality and productiveness of the grain ere unexcelled, yielding from 50 to 100 bushels per aoro, aocordiug to the fertility aud condition of land,"
