» Wellington, April 26. Parliament w»b opened by His Excellency the Governor this afternoon. Just before two o'olook a sharp shower fell, and the weather seemed to portend a repetition of laat year's experience at the ceremony of the opening of Parliament. B afore, however, his Excellency arrived the rain had ceased, but the atmosphere remained bleak and cloudy. The permanent Militia and Volunteer Artillery turned out as usual to form a guard of honor, and fire a salute, but there was no j band to enliven the proceedings, and it* absence was muoh commented on.
