IMPERIAL CONFERENCE.
I [SPECIAL TO TRESS ASSOOIATIOST. ] London, April 21. Correction — Adverting to the fact that the Conference had practically adopted the principal, points of a scheme of naval defence, the Duke o< Cambridge, at the banquet last nighr, advocated an analagous system for the land forces. He added that Englishmen regarded Colonists as brother citizens of a great Empire. The interests of . England and the Colonies were identical, lie was anxious to see a closer j union between them. Viscount Onslow remarked that the whole tendency ol ' the Conference was towards Federation, Mr Deakin expressed great gratificatiot \ at the grand reception the delegates had received. He wished the English Press would more closely follow ih< ' march of events m the Colonies, anc not confine themselves to reporting the results of cricket and sculling matches,
