j . • _ — Chumtohuroh, April 22, The proposal to celebrate the Queen's • Jubilee here by tho erection of a Home, as - proposed by Mr Hulbort, is finding verji j substantial encouragement. Mr D. C. t Olarkson has sent his cheque for £50, and a number of leading citizens and merchants f have given promises of donations, varying t from the same amount to 10 guineas, and [ the Jist of such promises is rapidly extending m length. At a meeting of the Masonio Distriofc > Grand Lodge of Canterbury,, it was decided 3 that it would be more consistent with the f principles of the oraffc, benevolence, and charity, that the " Home " proposal should be masonically adopted as their form of aalebrating the jubilee. It was also deoided that the District Grand Master should issue lists to the various lodges, and call upon members to contribute liberally. Notioe of motion was given to the effeot that the f Distriot Grand Lodge should, from its own i funds, vote a sum towards the same objeot. , Mr Hookham, of Christohuroh, has intimated his intention of taking part m the Adelaide Jubilee Chesa Congress.
