The letter received by the Govarnor Inviting New Zealand to Bend a team toWitrbledon was sent on to Oapt. Summerville, Chairman of the N.Z. Kifle Afsooia lion, for bis opinion: The latter, m a loiter £6 General Whitmore, states that the time available ia tco short to get a team together, procure Martini-Henry's from Australia, and have practice. He believes a good team could be procured, but it would not do to ritk the reputation Of colonial voln teers on a team that would have to go straight to Wimbledon on arrival m England, with Btrange ■weapons and not accustomed to the light and olimate there. He suggests that a team should be sent next yaar,
