«. Mr W. J. Lancaster has just patented a clever apparatus to b« ueed for detective purposes or ordinary portrait photography. The apparatus is fixed iv a watch case, which opens m the ordinary manner by meaDS of a spring. As ths case opens, a minatare je,aa ia exposed for a mcment, oloeed again, and the thing ia done. The sensitive pktas to be mcd for the camera are mluiitura dry plato 3, and a store of thoße is to be carried by the operator m a specially prepared locket to be hang on the watch chain. Thi3 minature apparatus is add to be welcomed by the detective police.
