April 14 This morning Dr RubboH pleaded guii' y to a charge of proourlng abortion on Anuie Connolly. Mrs Bowern and Isabella Wilton had pleaded net guilty. Connolly was servant at Bowern'o, and became pregnant by Robert WUbod, Mrs Bowern'a brother, and went by arrangement among th« prisoners to Dc RußselJ, who procured her miscarriage. The defence was mainl-/ •n attaok on the credibility of Connolly's evidence, and the contention that Isabella VVilaon was ignorant of criminal intention on the part of the others. The case is ■till proceeding Later. - Isabella Wilson was acquitted. Mrs Bowern was found guilty and sentenced to 12 months' hard labor.
