It ia stated that Me William Hooker, patentee of tho platinum burner for the incandescent light, left Auckland for Sydney and Queensland on the laat trip of the Rlanapouri, A warrant for hiß arrest bad been iaaued by tho Chief Justice hore at the ault of Mr W. J, Hunt, for alleged liability due to that gentleman of £600, being a olaim for damages m connection with the aale of patent rights. Before thia warrant, however, was served, Hooker got away m the steamer aa stated. Dunedint, April 13. The Otago Rugby Union will not aend a team to New South Wales, m reaponao to the invitation of the Sydney Union.
