NOTICE is hereby given that at a Special Meeting of the above Council held on Friday, the Ist day of April instant, a Resolution was duly adopted, and mil be submitted for conßrmntioa as a Special Order at a Special Meeting of the Council, to be held on Friday, the 6th day of May, 1887, at half-past four o'clock m the afternoon. The object of the said Special Order is is — (1) To make the Mount Somors Tramway, and the revenues to be derived therefrom tho primary security for the Loan of £3500 borrowed by the Council under " The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886." (2) To constitute a Special Rating District under " The Local Bodies Leans Act, 1886." And (3) to make a Rate of Three Farthings m the pound upon all rateable properties m the Rating District, payable annually on the first Saturday m June until the said Loan is paid off. . Ibe said Special Order is to take effect immediately upon the making thereof A copy of the proposed Special Order is deposited at the Office of the Council, Baring Square, Ashburton, and is open to the inspection of the public every weekday during office hours. "VTOTIOE is hereby given that at a special IN meeting of the above Council held on Ist day of April instant a resolution was duly adopted, and will be submitted for confirmation as a Special Order at a special meeting of the Council to be held on FRIDAY, the 6th day of May, 1887, at half-past four o'clock m the afternoon. The object of the Special Order is to alter the number of members of the Conncil to nine, and provide for the Election of Councillors as follows : One Councillor by Wakanui Riding ; two Councillors by Aahburton Riding ; one Councillor by Rangitata Riding ; one Councillor by Upper Ashburton Riding ; one Councilor by Mount Somers Riding ; two Councillors by Mount Hutt Riding ; and one Councillor by South Rakaia Riding. A copy of the proposed Special Order is deposited at the Offico of the Council, Baring Square, Ashburton, and is open for inspection of tha public every week day during office hours. By order. F.
